Activity 1: Collect five portraits that have crowds or a group of people. More then two people have to be present in the portrait. In your blog identify the artist, year the piece was painted, country of origin, and medium used. Select three pieces that you like and provide a visual analysis as to why you are drawn to the works. Discuss the roles of the people in the portrait. Where they noble? Are they politicians? Is the work documenting a wedding, ball, royal coronation, or religious service?
Activity 2: After selecting three pieces that you like, upload them to Photoshop for digital manipulations. Take portrait photographs of yourself or enlist the help of a fellow student to take your picture. Transfer your portrait and replace one of the figures for your own.
Activity 3: Digitally manipulate your own portrait into the three pieces. Make sure to remain authentic to the painting or photograph. You are to keep true the style of clothing, colors, and culture.
